Folk Classification Well sorted porous oosparite
Dunham Classification Well sorted porous oograinstone
Common Grains Dissolved ooids and bioclasts
Sorting Well sorted
Rounding Well rounded
Micritization & envelopes Some micritized ooids
Cement & diagenetic fabric Well cemented by low mag-calcite spar
Porosity 20% leached intrapartical porosity
Depositional Setting Aeolian dune
Diagenetic history Precipitation of aragonite as ooid cortex on pellets, grapestones and quartz.

Striking high energy concentric aragonite ooid grains that accumulated on the NW corner of New Providence Island in the Bahama as aeolian dunes formed during Pleistocene sea level lows. These dunes have undergone freshwater leaching and cementation by low magnesian calcite spar derived from previous aragonite material.
