Ordovician Cincinattian Group - Subtidal shelf
carbonates, marls and
shales. Most of the bioclastic
limestones represent layers reworked by storm waves on a shallow shelf.
shales are probably part of the storm sorting. Mass sediment movement produces local channeling. Abundant brachiopod, bryozoan and trilobite faunas occur in the
limestones.
